Extravagant silhouettes, bold colours and human emotion is what creates the frame for Jasmine Dawes’ designs at JAZZY D’S. With a focus on unconventional fabrics and materials to create unique garments, the brand strives to prove that fun fashion has a place in the luxury sector and that colour does not have to mean a lack of sophistication.

During Jasmine’s time at college, she became fascinated with the people around her. She looked to the habits that they had picked up, the items they carried around each day, and the stories that went with them. During this formative time of life, a young person goes through a number of changes, making one question a variety of elements of life from friends and family, to inner beliefs and how they would like to live their own life. This led to the exploration of ideas such as questioning whether money makes you happy and how alcohol affects the body. It was here she began to work through these questions using other, less conventional materials, including liquid latex, old receipts and bottle labels within her fashion practice.

Over the past year, Jasmine Dawes has been working on creating her own network of creatives and industry professionals. Taking part in international collaborations, events hosted by well-known brands, and creating occasion-specific designs, have all given her opportunities to express the bold, happy and intriguing feeling that come within her garments.
